Founded in 2007 by Ipanema and Edouard Genestar, the Polka Gallery is situated in the heart of Paris' Haut Marais area, and hosts photography exhibitions as well as a specialized bookstore in a 300m2 space.
To enhance and accentuate the photographs’ visibility were here the main challenges. In order to guide the visitors’ eye toward them, NWA followed the structure’s lines, defined by the walls, the beams and even the floor, thus creating vantage points leading to the exposed works.
Curves and straight lines, solids and voids, strong lines and wide black and white ranges alternate to highlight existing volumes or to accentuate them.
