Conceptualized for a competition in the United Kingdom, this ecological project revisits traditional shopping centres.

The 7,000 m² roof is composed of basins and gardens which replace the traditional metallic box structure and blind walls. Two underground levels of parking space and shops are topped by this man-made lake.

In the midst of water wells and green patios, the green roof becomes a space dedicated to strolls and walks. Footbridges give access to cultural islands, pagodas, restaurants and a library.

The shopping centre is not conceived as a temple for consumption but is transformed into a stress-free haven inspired by Japanese gardens.
