Between contemporary and old, the refurbishment of the 2,000 m2 Earthenware Museum in Les Islettes combines different architectural styles.

The three galleries of the Museum are dominated by the castle and the chapel; they disappear on the horizon by following the hill's curves. These volumes are covered by a rusted steel façade and welcome temporary and permanent exhibits.

Public access is made from the foot of the hill, through the building which supports the galleries and shelters the library and administration section.

Modern conception of simple straight lines is embedded into the landscape and disappears to the benefit of traditional architecture, much more sophisticated.
