AMERICAN CULTURAL CENTRE

Minutes away from the Statue of Liberty replica and located in the heart of the American community on the Ile aux Cygnes (Swans' Island), this project spearheads American culture in Paris.
Moored to the Seine River's banks, this liner is composed of three decks. The ship's central deck provides access to exhibition rooms, a library and an auditorium.
To avoid further reducing the island's limited area (width of the island ranges from 11 to 2.50 meters), the structure is raised on stilts.
The lower deck is set up as a large walkway enlarged by wooden piers which create space over the Seine. The upper deck dominates the river and the Beaugrenelle towers.
